The 180 million euro Forestal del Atlántico green methanol plant will come into operation in 2028
The Triskelion Project
The Triskelion project , with which Forestal del Atlántico intends to launch a green methanol plant in Mugardos, is advancing in its administrative process, beginning its public exhibition process. Starting this Wednesday, a period of 30 business days opens to analyze the documentation presented by the Tojeiro group company and present allegations.
The initiative has been declared a Strategic Industrial Project by La Xunta, with the intention of minimizing its administrative times to facilitate its implementation and the raising of European reconstruction funds. The objective of the project is the manufacture of green methanol from carbon dioxide that will be obtained in the company’s current facilities, in Mugardos, on land owned by the Port Authority of Ferrol, and green hydrogen. This will be produced through a water electrolysis process using renewable energy. The intention is that the production achieved will be destined to cover the energy demand of the company itself and for direct sale as raw material for the manufacture of biofuels .
